Coming from someone that didnt follow the comic, I was kind of disappointed after seeing it. The trailer made me think it would have a bit more to offer. Though the graphics were great. Maybe the storyline isnt for me. It felt Sin Cityish. But that movie I liked much more.

I agree that the movie was very well made. And part of me likes the thought-provoking/philosophical nature of the whole thing. Another part of me likes that it doesn't follow the cookie-cutter nature of most blockbusters these days. It's supposed to be a little more reflective of reality, right?

But lately I think, why does an unhappy or uneasy resolution equal reality to us? Why can't we believe in happy endings? Sure, there's no castle at the end of our journeys, and Cinderella probably didn't have a peachy keen life when she moved in with the prince, but I'll bet they shared some joy and laughter amidst the squabbles.

There's something to be said for a movie that lifts your spirits and reminds you about all that's good in the world. This wasn't one of those movies.
